Action and Excitement

Those are not always a good thing!

Yesterday evening Elliott and I went to a birthday party on the eastern outskirts of town. As we were leaving, I noticed a big brown cloud approaching. It was a haboob – also known as a dust storm. This is when the wind kicks up a mile-high storm of dust and sand from the desert. It can make driving very dangerous because visibility is severely reduced. I took this picture when we were at a stop light, almost home. The storm hit a few minutes later!

Then today when Evan went to adjust our hallway night light, he got quite the surprise:

Take a wild guess as to what happened and who was involved.  And no, no children were harmed in the creation of this blog post.

How nice, Elliott’s first lesson in electricity. Wait until he gets to lesson 36, that’s when the sparks really fly.
